Lyttelton Summer Festival 19th -28th February 2010

Your favourite Summer Festival has been expanded into a ten day event featuring a variety of events throughout the week that showcase Lyttelton’s vibrant, creative community including art, performances, food and music.

Key events are: The Lyttelton Summer Street Party - Sunday 28th 12-6pm. There’s something for all ages and stages with enthralling street performances, funky live music, interesting children’s activities, delicious markets full of scrumptious treats all set against the stunning harbour backdrop. Performances by Le Mot Cafe, The Remittance Men, D'sendantz, The Unfaithful Ways, The Eastern, Aaron Tokona & Carmelita Toots.

Swap-O-Rama-Rama - a clothing swap where you can create new delights from old treasures. Workshops, design stations plus a cat walk if you are keen. This event is sponsored by Singer (sewing machines) and Yudu (screen printers). Lyttelton Recreation Centre, Winchester St, Sat 20 11-4pm. Cost $10

Grow Local Brunch - a festival fundraising initiative at the Rose Garden off Oxford St. Combining Project Lyttelton’s ‘Grow Local’ project resources into a fun and delicious event. Supporting our organic gardens this event celebrates local food and is proudly assisted by Annie’s Eggs, Ashby Butchers, Peninsula Preserves, Vic’s Bakery, Lovat Venison, Sheehan’s Honey and other local businesses. BYO chair and or rug, tickets $20 per adult and $10 child, bookings essential Sun 21 9.30am – 11am, come visit the community garden as well

Puppetry Picnic @ Holy Trinity Winchester St. Have a picnic on the lawn. Enjoy 2 puppet shows & a workshop, $5 per show or workshop, bookings recommended, door sales available 12.30pm – 3.30pm Sun 21
