In most ‘Illustrated Histories', the story of art plays out as a succession of styles and art movements. But in this new series, Christchurch painter Roger Boyce reimagines the history of his chosen medium as a succession of outrageous stunts, tragicomic mishaps and wild endeavours. His Illustrated History takes satiric aim at everything from art criticism and abstract painting to the myth of the artist as hero.
