Body Festival cancelled due to earthquake damage

The Body Festival board and director last night made the decision to cancel this year's Body Festival, which was to have opened on 24 September, due primarily to concerns over the safety of public and artists following the earthquake in Christchurch on Saturday.

The cancellation covers the entire workshop and performance programme. Body Festival staff, board and performers are now looking ahead to a bigger and better event in 2011.

Two friends in competition to be the Ultimate Champion, Gogo and Joy embark on an awesome adventure, hunting for physical evidence of the mighty Moa. However, they soon discover, to their bewilderment, that Moa still exist - and they aren’t pleased to be disturbed. Their quest leads them through treacherous forest and swamp, tests their friendship, and faces them with a potentially fatal dilemma.

‘Champions of the Moa Feather’ is a humorous, physical journey into the values of friendship and the desire to be the best. Presented as part of the Body Festival 2010.
