The Festival of Transitional Architecture (FESTA) is a new annual event for the city of Christchurch. From 20 - 28 October 2012, celebrate and explore temporary architecture and DIY urbanism in Christchurch.

From Re:Start to Gap Filler, Smash Palace to the Cardboard Cathedral, innovative transitional projects provide a way of creatively and immediately reoccupying and regenerating the central city. They give us a chance to experiment, meet pressing needs and they inform our long-term decisions.

FESTA gives you a chance to experience new temporary or transitional architectural projects and urban interventions within the central city's four avenues. Our events let you discover more about some well known and more obscure transitional building and urban projects.
