About
'From Near and far - Canvas and Clay'
This colourful exhibition features impressive images in oil on canvas by Clark Esplin and Robert Wynn-Williams and painterly sculpted clay by local potter Gaye Morton.
The featured artists have taken inspiration from a variety of sources:-
The original works of professional artist Clark Esplin reflect his enthusiasm for Europe, his love of the sea and his fascination for different cultures.
Local artist Robert Wynn-Williams is particularly attracted by
shapes and colour. Some of his works combining both naturalist and stylised treatments in the same image.
Local potter Gaye Morton's inspiration for this exhibition comes from the Huts in the Back Country which she visited when tramping. Gaye likes to create sculptural forms from clay with emphasis on using the surface as a canvas to paint on.
