About
A talk by the Smash Palace team about how they took an old school bus and made it into the hippest bar in town. Sometimes temporary architecture comes about through careful consideration. Sometimes it just happens out of necessity. When their family bar was destroyed in the February 22 earthquake, the Moores set out to create something unique that would keep them trading and energise the public to embrace the temporary as a transition between rubble and buildings. Fraught with trouble throughout the whole process, the Smash Palace experience is an interesting exercise in post-disaster rebuilding. 35 people max; first on the bus, first served.
