About
Kick your shoes off and be prepared to get dirty in FESTA’s hands-on earth-building workshops. There are two opportunities to join CPIT architectural studies students under the guidance of their lecturer to help build a pizza oven and some large-scale furniture using at least two different earth-building techniques. Once they’ve dried off, with the help of Life in Vacant Spaces, these elements will be used as a temporary pizzeria for the summer months. At the end of their life, dust will return to dust, making this the most earth-friendly temporary design we’ve seen yet! Wear a hat and clothes that can get dirty, bring a water bottle and snacks; bare feet required while working.
Please Note: This site is within a fenced area inside the cordon. Participants must wear sturdy closed footwear on to the site. High visibility vests and hard hats will be provided while working. This workshop is limited to 20 people on site at anytime, so please drop by during the afternoon and sign in to take part!
