FUSE 2012 - Comedy Night

About

A fantastic line up, something every night from 7.30pm in the CPSA. First 50 people through the door each night get their 1st drink FREE.

Featuring: Steve Wrigley & Justine Smith

Justine Smith

There is something about the way Justine Smith is able to deliver a line with a flicker of the eyes that has been tearing up crowds for more than ten years.

The Christchurch girl made good, Justine now lives in Auckland but at least it's out west. She has won the Billy T Award in 2003 and the NZ Comedy Guild Best Female Comedian. Her solo shows, The Justine Smith Hour, Return Of The Jussi and Jussi Town have garnered critical acclaim and she is recognised for her appearances on the Comedy Gala, the AotearoHA series and as host of TV3's Divas.

If you were to try and define Justine as a lover or a fighter, you'd have to say both. She is capable of tearing strips off people on stage, and then buy them a drink after the show. A leading light of New Zealand Comedy, Justine is just as comfortable in a theatre or a local bar in the country. Simply one of our best.

Steve Wrigley

One of the stars of TV3's 7Days, Steve Wrigley can always be relied upon for the most leftfield answers and ideas that often send other cast members searching for some kind of sanity. His 2008 Comedy Festival show The First Time won Steve the Billy T Award and he has twice since been nominated for the Festivals most prestigious award, the Fred Award.

Since Steve made the move from his beloved Wellington to Auckland he has become a mainstay of the local comedy industry mentoring for the Class Comedians programme and in 2011 becoming one of the first recipients of the NZ Comedy Trust's Creative Comedy Initiative. His regular appearances on TV have seen him become recognised for his trademark high energy story telling, always with hilarious results.
