Come along to Thomson Park for an afternoon of free skating and blading action. Try your skills on one of the South Island’s best skate bowls or practise on the easier slopes and ramps. Watch and learn from the Cheapskates demo team. Register on the day for the competition or kick back to the sounds from the DJ. Awesome giveaways up for grabs!
Come along to Thomson Park for an afternoon of free skating and blading action. Try your skills on one of the South Island’s best skate bowls or practise on the easier slopes and ramps. Watch the pros from the Cheapskates demo team during their 15 minute demo sessions every hour. Cheapskates staff will also be available between demos to coach, teach tricks and answer any questions.
Register on the day for the competition that begins at 3pm. Children under 14 years of age must get their parents permission to enter in the competition. Categories are 12 years and under, 16 years and under or Open level.
Other activities include sounds from the DJ, free sausage sizzle, fruit and awesome give-aways.
We recommend all skaters and roller bladers wear protective gear such as helmets, elbow and knee pads. Free equipment hire - Roller Blades and protective gear including helmets are available for hire on the day.
Children under 14 years must be supervised at all times.
