About
The event is in conjunction with Girls’ on Bikes, Girls on Bikes is an inaugural cycle event, the organisers thought the area to be quite stunning and plan on this becoming an annual event for Methven, hence they are wanting the district to ‘turn it on’ for the competitors and make it an enjoyable and memorable experience for them to come back to. The event will cater for 500 people seated in tables of 10, tickets can be purchased per table ($480). The evening will commence with a wine and cheese tasting followed by a fashion show proceeding on to a talk by Robyn Malcolm this will be followed by music and dancing. There will also be artwork by local artists on display and for sale around the marquee.
There has been some confusion with people thinking tickets are only available for competitors, this is not so, this is an event for the whole district to enjoy and anyone is welcome.
The Methven Farmers’ Market on the Sunday (21 Feb) is going to be a special ‘Girls’ on Bikes Farmers Market’ with a chocolate making session, live music and extra stalls, go to www.methvenfarmersmarket.co.nz or call Liz McMillan 03-3028081 for any expressions of interest.
