September 19th is "International Talk Like a Pirate Day"

To mark this Arrrgggghhspicious occasion, there will be much rumbustification in New Brighton, the Pirate Centre of Christchurch.

On Saturday September 18th, there will be a pirate market in New Brighton mall. Pirates will man the stalls, roam the streets and play piratical music on ukuleles,congas, accordeons, spoons, and various other piratical instruments. 3 bands will perform: The Natural Magic Pirate Band, the newly formed PUB (Pirate Ukulele Band) and a trio of minstrels called No Sax or Violins. There will be a Pirate Puppet Show , a treasure hunt, piratical craft activities, facepainting, a pirate cake to share and prizes for the best dressed pirates!
