About
Enjoy a day in the countryside visiting beautiful Fernside gardens. The popular biennial Gardens of Fernside is scheduled for Sunday 25th November (wet or fine) from 10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
There are nine varied gardens to visit and admire, ranging from native to cottage, floral to shrubs, some relatively new to some very established.
This is a wonderful opportunity to explore some spectacular and interesting gardens in a pretty rural area just 25 minutes north of Christchurch.
Gourmet lunches are again available to pre-order, and will be served at Lyddington, a spectacular 10-acre hillside garden overlooking Mt Thomas and Mt Grey.
You are also welcome to take your own picnic and there will be homemade lemonade and wine on offer along with a string quartet to entertain.
Also along the tour, at another of our beautiful gardens, partake of a Pimms from the Pimms tent while you check out all the exciting bargains from the Silent Auction.
The school will host a humming Market Day with a bumper Plant & Shrub sale, and lots of interesting stalls with a home and garden theme.
The adjacent Fernside Hall will be packed with Art from local artists and Fernside School children - definitely worth popping into.
Tickets are $15.00 and a pre-ordered gourmet lunch box $15.00. Available through Gillian 03 3125553 or by email
walshs@blackhouse.co.nz
or the following outlets:
Continenal Bakery, Green Scenes Garden Centre, Rangiora Landscape and Garden Supplies, Milford House Linen (Oxford), Terra Viva (Christchurch).
Tickets on the day $20.00
Tickets can be purchased on the day at $20.00 at Fernside School, corner of O'Roarkes Road and Oxford Road.
