About
The Addington Fun Fair!
The Addington Fun Fair will be held on Saturday, November 24 at St Mary’s Church Square. Bring everyone you know - kids of all ages - to an old-fashioned fair, full of colour, originality and delight! Featuring live music all day, a bouncy castle, pony rides, home-made carnival games, races and stalls, it’s one of the loveliest days out you could have. Around 40 stalls will be located around Church Square selling locally-made arts and crafts, baking and sweets, fabric, clothing, books, bric-a-brac and other treats. International food will be available too from Addington locals – Afghan, Filipino and Nepali food confirmed at this stage. Races will be held every hour including egg and spoon, sack and pancake. Coffee will be available from locals the Addington Coffee Co-Op and Southern Espresso Rescue. There will also be a BBQ organised by Addington Action and Devonshire Tea served inside the beautiful, wooden church. The Fair will feature live music all day from Christchurch’s wonderful pot of talented musicians - Hera and Jed, Claudia Jardine, and The Haze are all set to play, as well as some local cultural groups. Proceeds from the fair will go towards supporting local community organisation, Manuka Cottage. The Fun Fair will run from 11am til 4pm on Saturday November 24. In the event of rain, it will be held on Sunday 25 November but one hour later to accommodate Church services (i.e. 12 – 5pm).
