Bring your kite along and let it soar amongst the hundreds of kites colouring the New Brighton sky. Kites of all shapes and sizes dance in the sky, delighting the thousands that come to watch and take part in this annual event.

Some of the best kites and kite pilots in the South Island and from around the world and join enthusiastic locals in what is developing into a truly international event.

Passion, skill, colour and family fun is what Tip Top Kite Day is all about. So bring a kite, pack a picnic – or grab some fish and chips, splash on some sunscreen and enjoy the day.

Parking will be at a premium so get in early or catch a bus to avoid the parking fuss altogether.

The Kite Shop will be there, with kites available for you to buy on the day and put your flying skills to the test. It’s certainly a day to mark on the calendar and a great day out for the whole family.
