About
Fleeing Vesuvius was originally published in 2010 and contains an analysis of the crises we face: the financial crisis; the collapse of the housing bubble; the urgent need for food security; the enormous challenge of dealing with climate change, and the looming scarcity of essential resources such as fossil fuels.
The New Zealand edition, published in 2011, has an additional 12 essays by local contributors.
This short course will provide an introduction and overview to the main ideas of the book and will include facilitated discussion.
The facilitators are John Peet, a Chemical Engineer with background experience in the petroleum industry and Margaret Jefferies, the Chairperson of Project Lyttelton and one of the NZ contributors to the book.
