Mitre 10 MEGA - A Run to Remember
Sunday 19 Feb
Mitre 10 MEGA – A Run to Remember is a fun run and walk to honour those that lost their lives during the February 2011 earthquake.
The run takes place on Sunday 19 February 2017. The run starts in Victoria Park and heads up along the Port Hills before turning down Rapaki track and finishing in Hansen Park. Total distance is 10km - a good challenge for runners and walkers of all levels. Proceeds from Mitre 10 MEGA - A Run to Remember in 2016 will benefit New Zealand Red Cross, among the first to respond when the Canterbury earthquakes struck four years ago.
The run offers scenic views of Christchurch city, the Canterbury plains, Pegasus Bay and the Southern Alps. Runners will be able to look out across Christchurch and remember it for how it was, and appreciate the potential our beautiful city has.
