Canterbury Summer Rogaine Series - Event 2: Sugarloaf Scenic Rogaine
Wednesday 24 Jan 2018
As a precaution against the wind, registration, and the event start will be held at The Sign of the Kiwi from 5.30 pm for both the 1 hour and 2 hour events. Maps will be available to preregistered teams on arrival. The event will commence at 6:30 pm at Sign of the Kiwi cafe. The finish will still be at Sugarloaf car park - see Directions below for details.
The event is based around Sugarloaf Scenic Reserve, at the top of Dyers Pass Road. We recommend allowing approximately 15 minutes driving time from central Christchurch. Head up Dyers Pass road to the top (Sign of the Kiwi) and turn left along Summit Road, take the first right 1 km along Dyers pass road to find the Sugarloaf Scenic Reserve where there is plenty of car parking. From there it is a short walk down to the registration and briefing area.
Limited toilet facilities will be available at the event center.
Christchurch weather is highly variable and we recommend that participants are prepared for all extremes. At minimum the following gear is recommended.
- Polypro or equivalent top
- Pen or pencil as back up
There will not be drinking water out on course so please ensure you have enough on you for the full time you will be out.
