About
The Owner and Grower of Braided River Wines will be at The Pantry in Ballantynes offering a free tasting of Braided River varietals.
At Braided River we specialise in boutique handcrafted wines.
Our family-run vineyard in West Melton, near Christchurch, takes its name from the Waimakariri River, one of New Zealand’s largest braided rivers.
Its ancient course of wide sweeping river channels has shaped our land and its legacy is a free draining soil that’s ideal for growing grapes.
We grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer grapes, which are tended and picked by hand.
Our vines are cropped to allow full expression of each variety’s characteristic and to ensure top quality. Our grapes are then crafted into wine by talented oenologists Theo Coles and Scott Berry.
