About
The Lyttelton Farmers Market is moving as of 5 November to car park of LPC building cnr of Norwich Quay and Dublin Street.
Producers of quality food and drink sell direct to the public. Stallholders with fresh fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, goat’s cheese and yoghurt, bread, fish, eel, meats (lamb, pork, venison), speciality cheese and herbs and plants sell at the market every week.
A must-try is one of Gerri’s pork pies from Horotane Foods, or maybe Julie from Peninsula Preserves’ Quince Paste with Lyttelton Blue goat's cheese made by Anna on Vic’s Bread bagel along with an organic apple from Jillian and Bruce (in season, of course). And then there’s Ground Gourmet Essentials’ Pounamu Dukkah made with native kawa kawa leaf, a gem.
The market is a friendly place to be with music from local musicians each week. The market is run by a grass roots community group. Each market is manned by volunteers, so do stop and say hello - we all love talking about our town.
