A fine variety of globally influenced, locally grown live music in our very own, world-class botanical backyard! Held every Sunday between 10th Jan - 28th Jan on the Central Lawn in the Botanic Gardens, from 3.30-5pm.
10 January - The Sam Manzanza Band
Sam integrates rhythms honed in the National Ballet of Zaire to his fast-paced blend of African rhythms and Western blues-rock.
17 January - Devlish Mary & The Holy Rollers Swing Band Blending foot-stomping Western Swing tunes with Gypsy Jazz stylings, fiery fiddle and a few slow-dance torch songs.
24 January - The Unfaithful Ways Country meets old-timey pop.
31 January - Ma Bell & The Blue Tones Accompanied by iconic Christchurch jazz/blues musicians, singer-songwriter Izzy Miller Bell eloquently interprets songs from jazz blues and country rock, to Celtic soul and contemporary folk.
7 February - Cairde (“Car-jah”) Five passionate women, five voices in rich harmony: a cappella or with captivating instrumentation they fuse Celtic and contemporary acoustic.
14 February - Valentine’s Day with The Lizzie Cook Band “Cook’s enjoyment of life (and music) seeps from her songs at every turn” Real Groove Magazine.
21 February - Hera & Keith Petch NZ-based Icelandic award winning singer-songwriter Hera presents new original material along with well-loved, and lesser-known, jazz songs with local jazz guitarist extraordinaire, Keith Petch.
28 February - Oakley Grenell & Departure Lounge Departure Lounge are a must for fans of progressive music, known for soulful, mood-swinging melodies and a dynamic live performance.
