About
The place to be this New Year's Eve is the park!
Say goodbye to shakes of the old, and hello to ease of the new at the Event Triangle area in North Hagley Park.
This alcohol free celebration is a family focussed event. Entertainment from 5pm to 8.10pm caters to families with younger children, while the second half, from 9pm to 12.30am, includes entertainment for all ages.
We kick off with musical entertainment from the talented Singapore Airlines StarFest finalists, followed by the family film Came a Hot Friday on the big screen thanks for the Film Commission and Screenline.
More children's acts lead into the Kids Early Midnight countdown at 8pm, with confetti, streamers, and bubbles so the youngsters get to experience the New Year's fun.
From 9pm, our party in the park goes up a notch, with performances by three fantastic local bands: Beatles cover band Flab Four, reggae roots band D'sendantz and rock cover band New Entrants.
New Entrants take the stage at 11pm, providing a high energy, rock fuelled end to 2011. Playing the latest hits plus those from the likes of Elvis, the Blues Brothers, Bon Jovi and Van Halen, New Entrants are sure to hype the crowd for the New Year's countdown.
At midnight, fireworks off Lake Victoria will blast us in to 2012, before friends and family can join hands and sing Auld Lang Syne backed by the bagpipes.
With great entertainment and something for everyone, New Year's Eve at Hagley Park is place to be.
