About
The Boiling Billy Band make a damn fine brew of goodtime celtgrass stomp! The duo's repertoire is a mix of Irish and Scottish folk, country, blues and rock 'n roll performed with high energy and good cheer that is sure to entertain and delight!
Boiling Billy Personnel:
Nick Jackman (vocals, guitar, harmonica, drums):
Nick is a multi-instrumentalist who often performs as a one-man-band and he brings this skill to Boiling Billy, playing several instruments at once to help give the duo its big sound. He played for several years in The Black Velvet Band and continues to do so on occasions, as well as making regular appearances as a session player in a number of other Christchurch folk and country acts.
Andy Gear (vocals, banjo, guitar):
Andy has been based in Christchurch for a number of years and has toured extensively around New Zealand in folk bands including Celtic Groove and Gallowglass. He is a fine banjo player with a unique style that plays a big part in creating the Boiling Billy goodtime experience.
