JONAS has performed numerous programs on the world stage & has over 30 highly acclaimed recordings on a variety of labels. His first musical studies began at the age of 4 on the accordion. At 16 he performed for Sweden's King Gustav Adolf before moving on to piano and organ at the age of 10. In 1970 he graduated with a Batchelor of Music Degree from the University of Portland, shortly after moving on to studies with Arthur Hitchcock for 20thCentury Fox Studios.

In 1971 Jonas was appointed organist for Portland's First United Methodist Church and assumed the Director of Music position in 1990. There he oversees one of the finest music ministries in the United States.

He has also played for numerous United Methodist Church General Conferences etc & as organist for the Oregon Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to his performing career, Jonas has been a major influence in the latter 20th century design & manufacturing of both pipe and electronic organs. He was with the Rodgers Organ Company for over 30 years and presently an artist for the Allen Organ Company.

This will be JONAS NORDWALL's first concert appearance in New Zealand , and he is promising a program that will appeal to lovers of all music from pops to classics.
