Award-winning Scottish folk singer Emily Smith and New Zealand born multi-instrumentalist Jamie McClennan will be touring New Zealand in February and March 2012. Performing a beautiful blend of traditional and original folk songs and tunes on vocals, accordion, piano, fiddle and guitar this is an act not to miss!

 Following their sellout tour back in 2010, Emily and Jamie are back to delight audiences with an inspiring mix of original songs and tunes alongside updated settings of traditional material in English and Scots language.

‘BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year’ Jamie joined Emily’s band initially on fiddle but over the years has become an integral part of Smith’s sound playing fiddle and lead guitar on recordings and live performances as well as producing Emily’s latest solo album Traiveller’s Joy, the success of which has helped garner her the nominations of ‘Folk Singer of the Year’ & 'Best Traditional Track’ at the forthcoming 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Emily Smith and Jamie McClennan have toured worldwide performing on the main stage of many prestigious festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections, Denmark’s Tonder Folk Festival and the National Folk Festival in Australia. They have also taken their music to audiences in Japan, Russia, New Zealand and North America and can note HRH the Prince of Wales and Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond among their fans. Alongside their solo careers, Emily and Jamie have worked with an array of artists from the folk scene and beyond - including Richard Thompson, Eddi Reader, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham.
