Saturday March 10th 2012 promises to be a fantastic night of both music and competition, as the finals of the 2011 - 2012 National Concerto Competition are held at the Aurora Centre in Christchurch.

Our three finalists are: Santiago Valencia, presenting Shostakovich's Cello Concert, Hilary Hayes, presenting Weiniawski's 2nd Violin Concerto in D minor and Blythe Press, presenting Ernest Chausson's Poeme Op. 25. They will each be accompanied by the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, Conducted by Sir William Southgate.

This event is in it's 45th year of competition, and past winners have used this achievement to launch musical careers across the world. This year's final promises to do the same for these three finalists, sure to wow us with their beautiful music.
