About
Rogaining is a sport where everyone from family groups to elite athletes can choose their own challenge to match their abilities and experience. Teams, of two or more, are given maps of the area with a number of checkpoints pre-marked. Teams visit as many checkpoints as they can in 3 hours. Some teams try to race around them all, while others go instead for the scenic highlights!
20th October 2010 - Sugarloaf / Victoria Park
27th October 2010 - TBC
3rd November 2010 - Mt Pleasant
Family Event - 1hr long event specially prepared for kids and their parents. Not finding a babysitter is not an excuse anymore! Bring your whole family!
The Taylors Mistake Rogaine Spring Series has always been about exploration, getting to know the wonderful environment of Christchurch and there have been many positive comments from competitors last year surprised with the amount of new areas to explore. “We want to encourage people to be outside and give them the opportunity to discover a little bit more about our hills. Our aim is to encourage as many people as we can to participate and also give some training opportunities for those participating in the World Rogaine Championship to be held in Canterbury this November!".
Start time: 6pm, registration and maps available from 5pm. These are 3 hour score events.
The event is suitable and fun for all levels of competitor, from the best in the world to complete beginners. The organisers also provide a recommended route to steer newbies away from the difficult checkpoints and ensure good times are had by all. Don’t miss the opportunity to be out there experiencing the highlights of exploring our backyard on the Port Hills!
