Booking Events in Cathedral Square

Once you have a clear idea of what you want to do:

Contact the Council call centre on (03) 941 8999 and ask for an events application pack.
If you require more information prior to this then you can ask to talk to someone in Events Development and we will assist you with any queries about the application process.
Once you have filled in your application and have faxed it or posted it back to us then the following process will occur.

We assess the application and contact the various departments within council that you may require approvals from.
Once Cathedral Square has been booked we will then write to you confirming receipt of your application and booking.
This letter states any charges that may be incurred for your booking, we also include 2 copies of the conditions of use for your area. One copy needs to be signed and returned to us.
Your event area is now booked.

Further approvals will be forthcoming from other Council departments if you have requested Building Consent for a marquee, Liquor Licence, Food License, Noise Control Approval or a Traffic Management Plan has been submitted.
Only when all your approvals are in place can your event go ahead.
At any point in this process you can contact the Events Development Team and ask us how your application is progressing.
